It is my pleasure to announce the organization of the Boston/Northern New England Chapter of the American Liszt Society (ALS) as approved during the ALS annual board meeting in February, 2011. Rebecca Plummer and I are pleased to serve as the Chapter’s Secretary-Treasurer and President. We invite you to join the Chapter and to consider becoming involved in the planning of future events in honor of the life and work of Franz Liszt.
Joining the ALS and its Boston/NNE Chapter will offer many rewarding opportunities for performers, scholars, teachers, students and music lovers of piano, but also of voice and other instruments as Liszt’s work was not limited to the piano. Top scholars and performers of the highest caliber participate at festivals and events organized by the society. Events sponsored by the ALS are free to members and, in addition, include two issues of the Journal of the American Liszt Society (JALS) and Newsletters.
